A colourful celebration of all things running will take over Niagara Falls on September 7th with Run or Dye, touted as the World’s Most Colourful 5K. The race will see runners blasting colour and overtaking the waterfront by Dufferin Islands up Upper Rapids Blvd.
The rules of the race are easy: “Don’t worry, be happy” is the primary mantra for participation. The race is for all levels of runner and promises an inclusive environment that focuses on the canvas that is you, and not the pace at which you race. In fact, rule number two is to be the canvas. Old wedding dresses are just as welcome as full white ensembles to maximize colour exposure.
The final rule for race day is “Get ready to dye and go to heaven!” The Colour Crew will be on site to execute their perfected Random Acts of Colour strategies throughout the race. Dancing, striking a pose and straight up calling for colour will surely result in quite the masterpiece as runners cross the finish line.
With all of the fun and colour-craziness that will surely ensure, it is also important to shine a light on the good that this race will accomplish. The YMCA of Niagara is the race day partner and funds raised by the runners of the Run or Dye event will go to the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign.
