When you think of Canada, three things come to mind: hockey, maple syrup and beer. Since we’re at the end of the summer season, hockey and syrup are still a ways off, so it only makes sense to celebrate the suds with the Niagara Craft Beer Festival.
This two day craft beer celebration will run on August 22 & 23 in the beautiful town of Niagara-on-the-Lake. The festival boasts 20+ of the best Ontario craft brewers, including local Silversmith Brewing Company, Oast House Brewers and the Niagara College Teaching Brewery. There will also be plenty of lifestyle vendors, food trucks and restaurants, live music and vinyl records. Saturday will see Dj Marinko, Mike Lynch Band, The Pub Jugs and Sea Perry, while Sunday will have Dj Stiles, Cottage Brew and the extremely popular Xprime. Make sure not to miss the exciting beer olympics with skill testing games such as Ping Pong, Bocce, Horseshoes and Giant Jenga. Depending on the game, all of the beer can really help or really hurt you!
Not only is this event helping to bring attention to local breweries, but the NCBF has also teamed up with Niagara’s Red Roof Retreat. Proceeds will help the organization continue providing quality recreational programs for children, youth and young adults with special needs.
Tickets for August 22 can be purchased for $20 and include admission, 3 x 5 oz beer samples and a commemorative cup. August 23 tickets will only include admission and are $10. If you are a true beer fan, your best bet is the All Weekend Ticket for $28 and includes all the same perks of August 22 plus admission on August 23.
