One of the most interesting stories was of Mr. Morse, owner of Morse and Sons Funeral Chapel, still in operation today. A cabinet-maker who felt a proper casket was the right of every man being laid to rest, his revolutionary business sense led him to make the caskets and keep an inventory so that people could be buried more quickly.  He even he invested in horses and a hearse. The cemetery at one point had a dirt road that led directly to the funeral home, where it still sits today, so that lives could be celebrated and bodies buried in one ceremony.

These are only a few of the accounts featured on the tour, and the actors who played each figure were convincing and evidently passionate about the subject matter. Learning about the Battle of Lundy’s Lane is a sobering reminder of what the history of this region means to each of us.
