If you’re wondering whatever happened to the good old fall fair fun you loved as a kid, we have great news!
It’s all happening in Wainfleet!
From September 22 -24, 2011, the Wainfleet Fall Fair will be bursting at the seams with activities for the whole family. What began as a Centennial project in 1967 has become one of the most popular events of the Niagara autumn calendar – and appropriately enough, this year’s theme is “Sunflowers – Watch Us Grow.”
If you love corn eating contests, belly up to the table on Saturday the 24th, and show your stuff. Are you an animal lover? Don’t miss the horse breed presentation and demos, the London Reptile Kingdom and the poultry and cattle show – all on Thursday, September 22nd. And be sure to grab yourself a front row seat for the Birds of Prey Exhibition on Friday the 23rd. Wannabe farmers will love the milking demonstration and the tractor pull and music lovers won’t want to miss a moment of the performances by The Old Tyme Fiddlers, Kindred Celtic, The Hummingbird Steel Orchestra, True Country, Stonewall and Captain Leonards’ Military Band.
For the thrill seekers in the crowd, this year’s Wainfleet Fall Fair will feature not only a race car simulator, paintball games and stock car exhibit, but also Anna’s Inflatables and the 24-foot-high “Ultimate Rock Climbing Experience.” Let’s see how high you can go!
The Baby Show, Pet Show and Demolition Derby all promise to be crowd-pleasers as well, but the hit of the fair is definitely destined to be the “Wainfleet Idol” competition, featuring three age groups: 6-12, 13-18 and 19 plus. Start working on those acts contestants – there are cash prizes!
Naturally in Niagara will be attending this year’s Fair. Make sure to come back to the website to see all of our photos and video coverage!
