Santa Clause will be making his rounds this weekend in Niagara Falls! On November 16, the Niagara Falls Santa Clause Parade sets the stage for the Christmas season. The parade begins at 11 am, with the pre-parade beginning at 10:40 am. You can expect beautiful floats, giant inflatables, marching bands and even Santa himself.
New this year is the CYTEC Candy Cane 5K & Fun Run/Walk. Registration begins at 8 am with the run beginning at 9:30 am. There will be cash prizes for overall 5K winners and also free Santa t-shirts. Make sure to also check out the Art Contest which is being organized by the Arts and Culture Committee. There are categories for Fine Art, Carving/Sculpture/Mixed Media and Green/Eco/Recycled/Found Art.
For those with a sweet tooth, there will be free Tim Hortons hot chocolate and Timbits at City Hall. The hot chocolate will also help those who find these November temperatures a little to low to their liking. Be sure to remember to bring donations and canned goods for Project SHARE and Search and Rescue Niagara.
When all is said and done, there will be time to meet Santa Clause in person in front of Niagara Falls City Hall. Be sure to tell him exactly what you hope to get for Christmas!
