Niagara has some hidden gems that we haven’t quite given you the goods on yet, but this article serves as an explanation and announcement of an event that we can’t wait to attend. Introducing Oyster Fest, hosted by Dillon’s Small Batch Distillers and The Tide & Vine Oyster Company. Doesn’t all of the above sound simply divine? There is good reason for that!
The First and Annual Oyster Fest Niagara will take place on Sunday June 9th from 2:00pm until 8:00pm at the Dillon’s location in Beamsville. The brainchild of Oyster aficionados Tide & Vine, we are certain that this is an event not to be missed. And while Oyster seems to be enough of a cuisine draw for Niagara to make their way in droves, there is even more culinary experience on the menu.
Local favourites El Gastronomo Vagabundo will be on site serving up goodness from their trademark truck while Avella’s Wood Fired Oven will be crafting pizza pies en mass. In addition, you can indulge in some summer bliss from Hometown Ice cream while you dance the night away to The Roxwells and LMT Connection.
The drink will be taken care of by Dillon’s Small Batch Distillers who are creating outstanding spirits with locally sourced ingredients. In addition there will be Silversmith Brewing Company who are known for their Black Lager and Angels Gate Winery whose vinous portfolio of classic Niagara flavours will be oyster pairing bliss.
All of that sounds like plenty to keep you busy for six hours of gastronomic goodness, but the plans don’t end there. You can also take part in Shucking and Cocktail competitions (register early, so make sure you read the rules). Have we convinced you yet?
This event is all yours for $35 which includes a drink and an oyster plate, additional food and drinks are at an extra charge and from what we’ve described we are certain there will be no shortage of goodness to go around.
