Passport to Icewine Ecstasy!

What’s the most wonderful thing about the wineries of Niagara?

It’s a toss.

It might be their sheer number – the region now boasts nearly 90 of them.

Or, it might be their unending spirit of hospitality – their doors are always open and there seems always to be a warm and welcoming wine expert on hand to offer a tasting and a tour.

There’s no better time to explore Niagara’s wineries than during this year’s Icewine Festival.  With the last of the frozen grapes being plucked from the icy vineyards, the region is rolling out the red carpet, inviting wine lovers to come and celebrate the best of winter!

While you can certainly enjoy all the festivities in Niagara-on-the-Lake, you might also want to take advantage of the Icewine Festival Discovery Pass, a bargain-priced card that allows you to visit a number of wineries for icewine-themed presentations and samplings.

At Tawse Winery, for example, you might just meet Allie Hughes (be sure to watch our Icewine Discovery Pass video for some inspiration to get you into your car and heading towards Niagara!) Allie is our very own NaturallyinNiagara.ca wine expert.  She’ll not only offer you a glass or two of that winery’s finest fruits of the wintry vine, but she’ll also tell you everything you ever wanted to know about the frigid process that makes it all possible!
