The Sap is Running!

There’s nothing like the sweet wonder of maple syrup – especially if you enjoy it at White Meadows Farms in Pelham!  If your children think the stuff that goes on top of pancakes is made by a lady named Aunt Jemima and comes from a shelf at the supermarket, it’s time to introduce them to one of Niagara’s most delectable natural products.

This year’s unusually warm winter has enabled the White Meadows syrup wizards to start tapping the trees earlier than usual, and the place is already buzzing with visitors eager to learn the maple syrup making process and to taste the delicious result. And Aunt Jemima is nowhere to be found!

From making maple taffy, to enjoying tractor rides and meeting the friendly denizens of the petting farm, a visit to the Sugar Bush Adventure is a family must-do!  White Meadows welcomes visitors on weekends, until April 1, and is open daily during March Break.

Not only is maple syrup delicious, but it is also a natural and healthy sweetener. It contains many essential vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Make sure to check out these delicious and easy recipes like Maple Milkshakes and Maple Teriyaki Salmon here!
