Butterfly Conservatory with Animals of the Rainforest

By on 2

The Niagara Parks Butterfly Conservatory in Niagara Falls features over 2,000 butterflies flying freely through the glass dome. It is a self-guided walking tour that follows winding paths in a rainforest setting. You are also able to watch the butterflies leave their pupae and take their first flight through the Emergence window.

For the 2012 season from February 11 – May 11, the Conservatory is pleased to welcome many exotic animals for the new exhibit “Under the Canopy – Animals of the Rainforest”. The animals come from “Little Ray’s Reptile Zoo” in Ottawa and are accompanied by staff to lead the educational programs. Some animals you are able to see are the Brazilian Short Tailed Opposum, Emperor Scorpions, Panther Chameleon and the Reticulated Python!
