An annual institution in the North End of St. Catharines, the Niagara Greek Festival can count 2012 as another success. With cheers of Opa! as the soundscape to the weekend, the rain clouds did clear for the celebration of great people, Greek food and good times!
The festivities were highlighted with dance troops taking the stage, belly dancing performances, and of course some classic Greek music. All of this was ultimately topped off by the good eats. Think gyros, souvlaki, lamb, and baklava – the makings of a meal of epic proportions!
In true Niagara Greek Festival style, there was a charitable aspect to the event with food donation bins collecting for Community Care of St. Catharines and Thorold. We send our congratulations for the success of the 2012 event and look forward to returning in 2013!
