In a sudden and welcome change of events, the Lord Stanley’s cup came to H.H. Knoll Lakeview Park for Canal Days on July 30. Adam Creighton, a current Boston Bruins scout and former NHL player, had his day with the cup and generously chose to bring it to Port Colborne where he has lived for more than a decade.
As far as everyone knows, this would be the first time the cup has been to the area. Bill Steele, president of the Port Colborne Minor Hockey Association, said “The last time it could have been here, if they did it back then, would have been with Teeder (Kennedy).”
Hundreds of excited visitors lined up in the hopes of getting a photograph with the longstanding Canadian relic. Luckily, everyone understood the time restraint and quick photo shoots allowed everyone to get a picture before the cup left at 6:30.
Naturally in Niagara™ was able to tell Adam how amazing this opportunity was and get a couple quick pictures before he left. This was an amazing event that many will not soon forget… Naturally in Niagara!
