Small Feats, Big Impact

Small-Feats

Known for their support and advocacy on behalf of the artists’ community in Niagara, the Niagara Artists Company is a destination for the creative ones among us. This weekend the NAC is opening its doors for the annual event “Small Feats”.

The premise of this event is the creation of works by member artists that are each exactly one square foot and available for purchase by attendees. The walls of the downtown venue will be tiled with unique pieces of art and the first viewer to swoon can call the work they love their own for two hundred dollars. That’s right, every piece of original art on the walls sells for the same price. What an opportunity to build your collection of originals created by local talent!

With a number of pieces available for preview on the NAC website (http://www.nac.org/programs/special-events.html) you can peruse and fall in love with works that can grace your walls early. The event is catered by downtown favourite The Office Tap & Grill and costs just $5 per person – a fee that’s refunded to you with the purchase of an original work.

Event details:
Saturday April 6th
Doors at 8:00pm
Preview at 7:30pm for members
$5 per person

What is the NAC?

The Niagara Artists Company is a registered charitable organization that operates on a not-for-profit model and supports the working artists and community of Niagara. The NAC space, located on St. Paul Street, is utilized by artists as an exhibition space, a facility for creation, professional consultation, research and more. As an organization, the staff team at the NAC, led by Stephen Remus who has dedicated more than a decade to his work with the organization, works to advocate for the community they represent.

As a member of the community you, too, can benefit from the work of the NAC. As a patron of the organization you are privy to the exhibitions, artists discussions, gallery openings and more. If you have an interest in supporting the local arts community, the NAC offers a rewarding opportunity to be in tune with this aspect of the Niagara experience and support an organization that is making change for an under-serviced community in the region.

Membership as an Art Enthusiast (or Artist) is $40 and gives the benefit of subscription to their eNews, discounted admission on events including STRUTT, use of the member’s gallery, production facilities and voting privileges at the Annual General Meeting. Other membership options are available in varying levels of support with special recognition and benefit at each level.
