Big Brothers Big Sisters is an organization with deep roots that makes a strong impact on the Niagara Region. Representing the Niagara Region is the St. Catharines-Thorold & District chapter, known for putting the best interest of Niagara’s kids first. The local chapter is hosting the Niagara installation of an important national fundraising event “Bowl for Kids Sake” and with more than $8500 raised before the first bowl, 2013 is sure to be a year to remember for success with this interactive event.

The Big Brothers Big Sisters St. Catharines-Thorold & District is located on Niagara Street in St. Catharines and has a regional reach, leading Niagara in youth mentoring in a not-for-profit capacity. Established in 1937, their mission of supporting children and at-risk youth through positive partnerships and mentoring with community members facilitates higher self-confidence, happiness and healthful youth. The impact of these efforts on our community is outstanding. Currently this organization is helping 1000 children and youth with more than 200 on the waiting list.

So how do you get involved in making a contribution to this worthy cause? Well, a few days of bowling have already passed, but it isn’t too late to gather a team and get your bowl on for the children and youth of Niagara.
