Thorold is set to host the 12th Annual Canal Bank Shuffle this month, so if you love the blues and want to hear some cool cats lay down some hot licks, make sure to come out October 17 – 19.
This year’s festival is set to have 30 bands play 31 sets over 3 days. Here are some of the top acts to look forward to:
Chris Duarte
He was once named by Guitar Player magazine as the fourth “Best Blues Guitarist” in the world behind fellow legends Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy and B.B. King. Chris has also released a new album this year called “My Soul Alone”.
Joe Louis Walker
Multiple Grammy & WC Handy Award winner, Joe Louis Walker is one of the hottest and most heralded blues artists of our time. The 2013 inductee into the Blues Hall of Fame. Walker is one of the living legends of the blues!
David Gogo
One of the world’s very best guitarists, David Gogo has shared the stage with many of his international peers including Johnny Winter and George Thorogood. David is going to reprise his heralded acoustic show in a matinee performance before taking the stage with full electric band at night. David recently released the album “Come on Down”.
The Canal Bank Shuffle is a non-profit event, with all profits being donated to various charities across the Niagara Region. Over 12 years, they have managed to donate an amazing $120,000. There is no reason not to come. You can support a great cause and feel good, while feeling good.
