Food and wine are two of the top features Niagara has to offer its many visitors throughout the year, but as Niagara grows, so does its selection. Over the years Niagara has drawn and inspired many talented individuals and now has the pleasure of offering many different beers and spirits too! This year will mark the 5th Annual Niagara Food and Wine Expo in Niagara Falls and it will offer an abundance of different tastings from across the Niagara Region from May 1 – 3.
“Each year our event continues to grow and attract more quality vendors offering amazing food and beverage samples,” said Melanie Klie, Niagara Food & Wine Expo. “With a stunning array of international and domestic beer, spirits and wines poured alongside fresh, local cuisine, the Niagara Food & Wine Expo has something to offer for everyone.”
There will be many popular local wineries such as Diamond Estates, Fielding Estates, Hernder Estates, and Megolomaniac, but also a wide array of craft beers. The Niagara College Teaching Brewery has created a special Niagara Food and Wine Expo brew that will be on tap as well as other quality selections made by the college.
Fans of the popular show “You Gotta Eat Here” will be excited to know that John Catucci, also known from The Doo Wops, will be making an appearance on Saturday. You will be able to find Catucci on the Chef Stage where there will be ongoing cooking demonstrations so you can hopefully pick up some tips and tricks from the culinary masters
The Expo will also feature many exciting artists to play throughout the weekend. The Shea D Duo, who have been performing since 2007, boast a sound that is a cocktail of jazz, soul and pop with original arrangements and compositions. Up-and-comer Cory Cruise will be performing Sunday afternoon. He was the recipient of the 2014 Niagara Music Award’s People’s Choice Award as well as Adult Contemporary Artist of the Year.
The Expo will be open to visitors May 1 & 2 from 2 pm to 10 pm and May 3 from 12 pm to 6 pm.
